Spain and Portugal in joint tourist drive

Spanish and Portugese tourist authorities are pulling together to attract more visitors to both countries next year. A new promotional campaign will get under way to market both countries as premier holiday destination in Europe.
They hope it will spark a wave of inward investment across both nations. Official claim the Iberian Peninsula offers two very distinct yet culturally-rich travel destinations in one. New marketing programmes will be aimed at promoting both destinations.
The move could also boost property investment in both Spain and Portugal. Spain alone attracted about 58 million tourists last year, making it the most popular holiday destinations in Europe.
