Ryanair voted UK's worst airline
Ryanair has been voted the worst airline by UK travellers for the second time. About a third of those voting in a poll on travel website Trip Advisor claimed the Irish no-frills airline their least favourite.
Pollsters cited delays, cancellations, unhelpful staff, uncomfortable seats and little legroom. But the airline was pipped at trhe post by US carrier US Airways for the title of the World’s Worst Airline.
British Airways - top in the survey last year - slipped to third place overall. American Airlines (AA) was the favourite airline. Travellers said friendly and helpful staff, reliable service, and comfortable seats gave AA the edge over other carriers.
Ryanair dismissed the findings saying 52 million passengers will vote with their feet and travel with Ryanair this year. They said it was number number one for customer service, low fares and punctuality. A spokesman said only 833 people voted in the survey which had no checks on whether voters had actually travelled with Ryanair.
