Baltic airport cuts landing charges to attract mor

Tallinn airport is to cut its landing charges by 10%  next year. Landing taxes are a charge on airlines and the new lower rates will come into effect from March 2008.

It is not clear if customers will benefit directly from the cut but it could make Tallinn more appealing to cheap flight operators. Ryanair, in particular has been in talks to open routes to the Estonian capital - a favourite in the stag party circuit.

The low cost airline has so far refused to fly to Tallinn because it claims landing taxes are too high Talks were aimed at  negotiating a special rate for Ryanair alone but the overall drop will certainly leave the way open for Tallin to be added to the cheap flight network next year.
