Budget airline found misleading public

Easyjet, the leading low-cost airline with many flights to Nice, has been criticised for breaking advertising rules by raising fares after promising a 25% discount on all routes.

The UK's Advertising Standards Authority says that some passengers at Easter would have paid more for a seat than before the so-called discount was introduced. This despite easyJet's advertisement saying: "Early Easter Sale - upto 25% off" on all seats on every route each day from 14 March to 30 June, including Easter and half-term.

Complaints were made after people checked the prices before and during the promotion but found no evidence that fares had been reduced. The ASA said the easyJet advertisement was misleading.
