airBaltic to fly from Sweden
From the end of this month, the popular Latvian carrier airBaltic starts offering a number of new routes to the capitol, including a direct transfer from Norrkoping in Sweden.
The announcement makes this the 47th route offered by the company with a further 10 planned for summer 08.
The CEO of airBaltic Bertolt Flick commented on the plans saying: "There is much demand for flights to Riga, both as a final destination and as a city from which transit flights to other important cities in the airBaltic network are available."
The new flights will depart on Wed/Fri/Sat every week and will take about 1:30 hours. All this just goes to show how despite its raucous stag party links, Riga is a tourist honey pot and is only getting more popular
