Sex terrorism not sex tourism in Riga
There is a new poster to greet visitors at Riga International Airport . It shows a blow-up doll ina mini-dress with the slogan: Sex tourism? Sex terrorism.
It's part of a city campaign - backed by the airport and more than 20 businesses - to curb the growing sex tourism trade in the city. It's not just the tourists that are tempted by offers of sex but Latvians themselves. Touts outside many bars promise hot women and cold drinks. Most of them are frequented by Latvians as well as foreign visitors.
There are plenty of bars and clubs to choose from and most are filled with well-dressed woman tryng to persuade men to buy them drinks. It seems the campaign has a long way to go.
