Irish fans get more tickets for Riga soccer match
Northern Ireland soccer fans will be backing their team when they take on Latvia in the first away match of Nigel Worthington's reign on September 8. It was originally feared that just 800 travelling supporters would get tickets for the Skonto Stadium in Riga which has seating for 9,500.
But now the Irish FA has been allocated an additional 1,000 tickets for the game. It will mean that 1,800 fans can be at the match. Police are pleased that Northern Ireland fans will not be forced to buy black market tickets or find themselves lockout out of the stadium for the game.
