New railway station for Riga
Riga city centre is to get a new railway station, transport hub and public squares in a major scheme for the World Heritage Site. Included in designs by international architects Fletcher Priest are headquarters for Riga City Council and a major new square outside the rail station.
The 52,200sq mtr 10-storey building will have views to the city centre on the east side and parkland to the west. The scheme also includes a 100,000sq m public administrative complex and a new housing and business park.
