Row over Riga's gay rights march

Gay rights protesters are up in arms over plans to fence in next month's Riga Pride and March for Equality.

Political leaders want the march, planned for May 31, enclosed within Vermanes Park in central Riga as it was last year. Officials fear counter demonstrations could lead to public disorder.

But the move has sparked anger  from the Latvian Human Rights Centre, who claim the government is overstating the risks of security.
