Venice city break is no place for lager

A pint of lager in Venice will likely set you back £3.35 according to a website survey of beer prices across the world.

While the average cost of a British pint stands at £2.45, the survey for PintPrice.com says not to bother drinking lager anywhere in Italy as it is so expensive.

Both Milan and Rome pipped Venice in the lager price stakes at £3.46 and £3.45 respectively.

At least it's not as bad as Paris where a pint costs £4.80 or Marseille at £4.

But for the cheapest drink holidaymakers should head for the Dominican Republic. There they can expect to shell out just 3p for a pint of lager.
